Foresight Sports Launch Monitors - Wired & Wireless Connections (Tips & Tricks)

In this helpful article you will find useful tips and tricks to ensure your Foresight Sports launch monitor is reliably connected to your desired peripheral and choice of software:

  • USB Connections:
    • All Foresight Sports' devices have the ability to connect to a Windows PC through USB connection.
    • USB connections should stay under 15' (feet).
    • If USB connections exceed 15', a powered (active), USB repeater cable needs to be used (or the device may experience connection lost or intermittent issues).
    • We recommend NOT having your device connected to a USB hub, and connected directly to the PC's motherboard USB slots (if available).
    • USB-C connections can almost feel dual staged, and may require an extra firm push into the USB-C slot for a valid connection (with your Window's Volume Up, listen for the new device "chime" to let you know connection has been established)
    • Our older GC2 and GC2-T devices require USB drivers to operate correctly (GCQ, GCH, and GC3/LP do not require drivers):
    • In rare cases, your PC may have your USB slots set to hibernate after an elapsed in time, in this case, remember to disconnect and reseat your USB connections before play, if your Software and Hardware are left unattended after initial play.
  • Ethernet Connections:
    • Foresight Sports' GCQuad, GCHawk, and GC3/Launch Pro can utilize a network connection through a CAT 5 or 6 cables to establish a stronger and more reliable connection.
    • We recommend against using the devices on a wired network, and instead plugging the device directly into your PC's network adaptor (PCI-E or Plug'n'Play USB) as this will allow faster connection and less potential for a failure to find the device after search.
    • Reset the Devices Network Adaptor Internally:
      • If unsuccessful with your initial network connection to your device, we recommend powering off the device completely (and removing all cables, including power, USB, network) and allow the device to be in a powered off state for 3 minutes.
        • After this time has elapsed, reseat the NETWORK CABLE FIRST, and other necessary cabling, and power the device on.
