Logged out of FSX 2020 & Cannot Get Back In With Credentials

Problem: Some clients may be logged out of FSX 2020 at random due to ISP or Network issues. When attempting to re-log in, they are faced with an error message indicating that "an unexpected error has occurred".

Resolution: To fix this, the user must close out of the software and log in to their FSX Live profile online to deactivate the FSX 2020 license in order to be able to re-use it again. See steps below on how to complete this from start to finish.

Step 1: You see the "an unexpected error has occurred" message upon trying to re-log into FSX 2020 (see Figure 1).

Step 2: Close out of FSX 2020 and open up a web browser on your computer (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.).

Step 3: Sign into your FSX LIVE account: https://performance.foresightsports.com/Account

Step 4: Select the MY ACCOUNT option in the upper right corner of the screen (see Figure 2).

Step 5: Select the LICENSES TAB (see Figure 3).

Step 6: Identify the License you wish to deactivate or control. If you have more than one simulator in your space and need to know what FSX 2020 license you need to deactivate use this article to find out what license is activated on the computer that is experiencing login issues. Alternatively, you can also type into your PC's window search bar "view your PC name" and hit enter. Your FSX Live portal will be able to tell you what license is activated to what PC name under the "MACHINE" column in your FSX Live licenses section.

Step 7: Select DEACTIVATE to release from your account for use again (Be sure to clearly write this down as it will be removed from your account and not accessible again once you select deactivate). If available, the REQUEST button will enable offline hours, which allows your software to operate offline when no internet is present.
