How to Care For and Maintain Your Foresight Sports Device

How to Care For and Maintain Your Foresight Sports Device

Proper care and storage of your launch monitor will extend its life and ensure accurate performance. This guide applies to all Foresight Sports devices, including GC3, GC3s, Launch Pro, Quad, QuadMAX, Falcon, and GCHawk.

Storage Guidelines

  • Store your device in a cool, dry place.

  • Avoid leaving the device in extreme temperatures, such as hot cars, garages, or damp basements.

  • Use the provided protective case when transporting portable devices.

  • If storing for long periods, ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from any cables.

Cleaning Your Device

Exterior Surfaces

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Avoid solvents, harsh cleaners, or abrasive materials.

Lenses & Sensors

  • Preferred method: Use canned air or a photographer’s air blaster to remove dust and debris.

  • Only if absolutely necessary: Use a clean microfiber cloth, applied with very light pressure.

  • Never spray liquid directly on lenses or sensor windows.

Battery Care (GC3, GC3s, Launch Pro, Quad, QuadMAX)

  • Fully charge the battery before long-term storage.

  • Do not leave the device plugged in for extended periods after it’s fully charged.

  • Recharge every 3–6 months if stored for long periods to prevent deep discharge.

  • Only use official Foresight Sports chargers and power adapters.

Transport & Handling

Portable Devices (GC3, GC3s, Launch Pro, Quad, QuadMAX)

  • Always transport in the protective case.

  • Avoid dropping, shaking, or exposing the device to impact.

Installed Devices (Falcon, GCHawk)

  • Mounted devices are designed to remain in place.

  • Do not attempt to move or adjust the mounting hardware once installed, unless directed by Foresight Sports Support.

  • Periodically check mounting brackets and screws to ensure they remain secure.

  • Keep the area around the device dust-free to maintain lens clarity.

Best Practices

  • Keep firmware updated for optimal performance.

  • Store club markers, fiducials, and accessories in clean, dry conditions.

  • Power down portable devices when not in use to extend lifespan.

  • For installed devices, schedule routine checks of mounting stability and environmental conditions.

FAQ

Can I leave my device plugged in overnight?
Yes, but disconnect once fully charged when possible to extend battery health.

What if I accidentally left my device in a hot car?
Allow it to cool to room temperature before powering on. Heat exposure may shorten battery life.

Do I need to cover the sensors during storage?
No, but always use the protective case (for portable units) or maintain a clean environment (for mounted units).
