How to Release or Deactivate an FSX LIVE License

How to Release or Deactivate an FSX LIVE License

Release this computer’s software license and course activations so you can activate them on a new PC.

Before you begin

  • You’ll need your FSX Live sign-in (same username you use in FSX 2020/FSX Play).

  • Purchases stay tied to your username—you’re just freeing that PC’s activations.

  • Moving FSX 2020? Copy the Courses folder to save download time (see Related links).

Step 1: Sign in to FSX Live

  • Open the FSX Live portal in your browser and sign in with your Foresight account.

Step 2: Open My Account

  • Click My Account (top-right).

  • Choose Courses or Licenses (both live under My Account).

Step 3a: Deactivate all courses by machine (fastest)

  • In Courses, scroll to the bottom and click: “Want to deactivate all courses by machine? Click Here.”

  • Select the machine name (PC name) you’re retiring and confirm.

Step 3b: (Optional) Deactivate individual courses

  • In Courses, click a course and choose Deactivate for one-by-one control.

Don’t know the machine name? On Windows: Settings → System → About → Device name. Or see Locating Your Computer’s Name.

Step 4: Release the software license (if shown)

  • Go to Licenses.

  • Find the entry tied to the old PC (check the Machine name).

  • Select it and choose Release / Deactivate to free that seat.

  • Use the Machine name shown in Licenses to confirm you’re releasing the correct PC.

Step 5: Activate on the new PC

  • Install and sign in with the same username.

FSX Play

  • Courses tied to your username auto-activate on sign-in.

  • If your account includes multiple installations (e.g., entertainment/retail), FSX Play will authorize up to the number of installs purchased.

  • If courses don’t appear right away: Settings → Account → Refresh Courses, then restart.

FSX 2020

  • Sign in/activate; if you copied the Courses folder, titles validate on first launch.

  • If you didn’t copy the folder, download courses one by one from the FSX 2020 support page, then launch FSX 2020 to validate.

  • If your license includes multiple installations, you can activate on additional PCs up to your purchased seat count.

Notes

  • You don’t need the old PC to complete this—use FSX Live as above.

  • Keep the same username across FSX 2020 and FSX Play so entitlements match.

  • To confirm seat count and machine names, go to FSX Live → My Account → Licenses.
