GCQuad Alignment

GCQuad Alignment

Understanding The Alignment Stick And Basic Use:

In regards to alignment, the GCQuad calibration resets along (or parallel to) the front vertical face every time you reboot the device.  For inside 50 yards you would aim the front vertical face directly at the target.  For anything 50 yards and greater you would put the ball down on the target line (using the alignment stick) and place the front vertical face of the device parallel to the target line.  It’s ok if it’s not perfectly parallel because the GCQuad will pick up the angle change based on the alignment stick’s location.

More About The Nitty/Gritty:

When developing the product our engineers calculated the change in alignment angles (straight at and parallel to the target) both at targets of 200yds and 50 yds.  At 200yds the delta is 0.14 degrees between alignment straight at the target and aligned parallel to the target.  At 50 yds. the delta is 0.56 degrees, so it turns out that the change in angle is not as significant as you might think.  Both are within our measurement tolerances.

Using the Alignment Stick:

To setup the device to use the alignment stick you will need to go to your LCD Menu on the device by pressing the OK Button. One you have opened the menu, navigate down to the Target Alignment option and press OK once more.

Recommended Use For A Mat:

If you’re spinning the GCQuad around in the center of the mat, it is recommended to keep the GCQuad’s default calibration angle and to place some guide lines down on the floor (with tape or markers) so you know how far to spin the GCQuad to where it squares up correctly.

Notes For Indoor Use:

Most often customers do not need the alignment stick and are just going to hit straight ahead towards the screen or net due to the way the Room Configuration Tool places the driving range target line/flag directly in front of the golf ball.

The only time customers would use the alignment stick indoors is if they were trying to change the location where impact was occurring on the projection screen, but this can get tricky if the Room Configuration Tool is not adjusted accordingly.
