GC2 Not Capturing

GC2 Not Capturing

1. Confirm the GC2 Device Flash Module is Working Correctly:

Please test the GC2 APART from software in the following fashion:

  1. With a flash module that is known to be working in a different GC2 device.
  2. Then test the flash module from this GC2 device in the other known working GC2 device.

Either way this will help determine if the GC2 is providing the issue and needs to come back for repairs again, or if the flash module is no longer functioning correctly and you will need to order a replacement flash module.

2. Test the Device Stand Alone To Confirm Setup is Correct.

  1. Remove the GC2 from any Protective Enclosure
  2. Place GC2 on the same surface as the ball or a little bit higher than the ball (Directly on your hitting mat)
  3. Unplug the USB cable GC2 device from the software (Leave power cable plugged in)
  4. Hold down the power button for 5 seconds to perform hard restart and then power on the device
  5. Press the speaker button 2-3 times to turn the volume up in order to hear the GC2 produce data
  6. Hit 10 test shots to determine the capture rate of the GC2 standalone

How the GC2 device responds directly on the screen of the floor monitor and audibly through the speaker.  What is the capture rate out of 10 shots?  Did it miss any shots?  Any error message?  Any dashed lines?

Also, there are a couple setup and environmental items you will want to know, try, and/or be aware of:

  1. Please fold the GC2 Foot Stand underneath the device.  Also it's definitely better to error on the side of having the GC2 device raised an inch or two higher than the ball especially for Woods and Drivers.
  1. Do you have any reflective material in the environment (window glass, mirrors, etc..) or on shoes that are being worn while hitting shots?  Some running shoes like NIKES or ASICS have a reflective material to allow car headlights to see people while running.  This type of material can reflect the flash back into the camera lens.  Some ECCO golf shoes also have this material on them. This reflection will cause the device to miss read the shot or not collect data.
  1. Regarding the flashes that you have in the unit currently and the one you will be testing with, what are the serial numbers on the back of each of those?  If you hold them steady by the screws and shake the whole unit, besides any movement from the screws, do you hear anything moving around inside or rattling inside of any flash modules?  If you do hear things, discontinue use and dispose of them as this indicates that the flash had been damaged and the bulb inside is no longer working.
