Unfortunately, as with any wireless Bluetooth technology there is always the possibly for dropped connections. With the GC2 device we have mapped out a few items that should be kept for consideration should you be experiencing connection issues.
BEFORE YOU PROCEED PLEASE NOTE:
Bluetooth technology may offer challenges in environments where there are multiple signals. For best use we recommend using the Bluetooth connection in a area with low radio traffic. If you experience issues we recommend to move to a USB connection to guarantee connectivity.
To begin, first confirm your GC2 device is able to establish a Bluetooth connection to your PC or Mobile Product. If this is confirmed, you are most likely consulting this guide because you are loosing connection during use. (If you are unable to secure a connection please trouble shoot that issue before proceeding to the steps below).
From this we can know one of the following to be true and test the associated recommendations:
1. The Bluetooth receiver in the computer is not Microsoft Stack compatible and therefore will only hold the GC2 Bluetooth signal briefly. (In this case you will want to purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter with Microsoft Stack capabilities or use a different computer with the required capability to test with.)
2. The device has been Bluetooth connected/ paired to other Bluetooth receivers in the environment (could be other computers, iPad, or smart phone devices) and the GC2 Bluetooth signal has not been “Forgotten” by those devices. This would cause the GC2 Bluetooth signal to jump back and forth between devices causing an unreliable connection. To test this I would be sure that any computer or device that was previously paired to your GC2 is unpaired and restarted before trying again.
3. The Bluetooth receiver in your computer is overloaded with different signals that have high data intensive profiles. This may cause the Bluetooth Drivers to crash or be slow to respond. To test, unpair all other Bluetooth items with your computer or mobile device and test the GC2 again.
The official Bluetooth specifications for all Bluetooth technology state:
With that said, we do know the GC2 device to be very data intensive and most times it does take multiple restarts of the GC2 and the device before the connection occurs.
