FSX Software Error Message Uninstalling Application

FSX Software Error Message Uninstalling Application

If Windows cannot uninstall the application due to corrupted files or an error message similar to the one below pops up. Then this article can guide you on how to resolve it.

1. Click on the Windows File Explorer() locate the the FSX software you want to uninstall: C:\Program Files (x86)

  • PS: Copy and paste C:\Program Files (x86) into the address bar of File Explorer and hit enter if having issues locating it as it will take you straight into Program Files (x86) folder.

2. Locate the uninstaller that should be named "unins000" or for those with "File name extensions" ticked on under "View" option you will see "unins000.exe". Try running the uninstaller. Pictured below is from FSX Play but some of our other software uses the same name.

If it does not run make sure it is named unins000 and rename it as such. If that does not work or the uninstaller missing, then delete the entire software folder.

For FSX 2020 or Play you can save your course folder to save some time having to download and install each course.

3. Then search for the Control Panel in the Windows Search Bar and type in "Programs & Features". Locate the FSX software trying to uninstall.

  • Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

When selecting uninstall an error message like the one below will come up asking to remove the application/software  select, "Yes".

4. If you are using FSX Play and are still experiencing issues please follow the guide below to remove any old and potentially corrupted files.
