FSX PLAY Download Manager Not Working / Won't Download Courses

If you are having trouble using the download function of FSX PLAY (Found in v1.2.0.3 and above), please see the steps below:

If you have not yet downloaded and installed FSX PLAY v1.2.0.3 or above, please see the FSX PLAY Product Support Page.

 

Cause: The Download Manager Background Application is not currently running.

Error you may see:

Solution: Follow the steps below -

 

1. Open your Windows File Explorer 

2. Locate this file location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Foresight Sports Experience Components\DownloadManager 

3. Identify and Right-click on the ForesightSports.DownloadManager.exe application pictured below.

4. Select, Run As Administrator

5. Launch Play

6. The issue continues, restart the PC


If the above steps do not work follow the next set of steps below.

1. Open your Windows File Explorer 

2. Locate this file location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Foresight Sports Experience Components\DownloadManager 

3. Identify and Right-click on the ForesightSports.DownloadManager.exe application pictured below.

4. Click on "Properties"

5. Click on the second tab "Compatibility"

6. Tick "Run this program as an administrator"

    • PS: Issue continues, tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:". Then choose Windows 7 this step can be done when checking "Run this program as an administrator".

7. Click "OK" or "Apply" save changes

8. Download .NET 5.0 (v5.0.408) and install or repair it: .NET 5.0 SDK (v5.0.408) - Windows x64 Installer Direct Download

9. Restart the PC

 

Now launch the FSX PLAY software and attempt to use the download function. If after Launching FSX Play the Download Manager still not functioning restart the PC and try again or follow the instructions below.


If the above steps do not get the Download Manager to function even after restart of the PC check that FSX Play on the latest build/version. If on the latest version of FSX Play then follow the steps below.

Delete the Download Manager by following the steps above to locate the program and run the FSX Play installer (.exe). This can be found on our FSX Play support page. Running the Play installer will install a new Download manager in its place then follow the steps above to make sure it runs as admin.
