FSX 2020 Crashing During Use

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with the FSX 2020 Software.

The following system specifications are required to operate the FSX 2020 Software:

System Requirements:
  • Operating System: 64 Bit Windows 10 or greater
    • not supported: iOS, Linux
  • Processor: 7th Gen or greater Intel i5, i7, and i9 processors
    • not recommended: AMD CPU
  • Memory/RAM: 8GB system memory
    • recommended: 16GB+ for Swing Camera/Swing Catalyst use
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 3060 or greater
    • recommended for Quality/Optimal Performance: GeForce GTX 3070ti/3080/3090
    • not supported: Nvidia Quadro, AMD GPU

If you are confident your computer can run the software correctly you can continue trouble shooting by following the recommendations below:

1. Is the FSX 2020 software listing that the high performance graphics card is being used?

To test this:

1. Open the FSX 2020 Software

2. Select the Software Menu from the upper right corner

3. Select Settings, and then note the Adapter listed:

You will want to see that it shows a NVidia GeForce video card. Any other option will not be able to support running the software.

2. If the software is running a GeForce NVidia Graphics card you will then want to check that you are running the most up-to-date version of both your FSX 2020 Software and your FSX 2020 Courses. You can do that by downloading the FSX 2020 Update for your software and each of your courses from this page: www.foresightsports.com/fsx2020updates

  • Your software version number can be viewed by selecting the Foresight Sports icon from the top of your software main menu.
  • Your Course version numbers can be viewed by checking the software directory > course folder:

1. Right Click on the FSX 2020 Icon from your computers desktop

2. Select Open File Location

3. Select the courses folder.

4. Here you can see that you are running the FSX 2020 version of each course. This should be displayed with a course name with version 3.0 or greater.

3. If the issues continues after updating please be sure to run a driver update on your GeForce Nvidia graphics card using the GeForce Experience application managed by the graphics card manufacture. You can locate this by searching your Windows Search bar, typing in GeForce Experience. Here you may be prompted to create an account and login, once logged in select the drivers tab and run the update.

4. If once you have tested these items you continue to have trouble please test by removing and additional items connected to your computer, this includes USB connection to a Launch Monitor, Connection to a Swing Camera, the only items you would want to test with would be the Internet cable to your internet source, and a power supply, display/monitor, Mouse/Keyboard - Be sure to test by removing only the Swing Cameras, or only the Launch Monitor to determine as you remove items if one connection point is the cause of your issue. Basically, you are trying to bring the software down to its simplest function which would be basic operations. You can hit false shots in the FSX software by pressing space bar to test.

Beyond these trouble shooting items we would need to have you provide a FSX Log file for review: You can locate this by -

1. Right Click on the FSX 2020 Icon from your computers desktop

2. Select Open File Location

3. Select the LogFiles Folder

4. Add these to Support Request

I hope the items above help to resolve your issue, but if not we can assist to investigate further.
