Fix: Product Network Connection Issues - Internet and Validation Errors

Your Foresight hardware needs an active network connection to perform tasks like:

  • Subscriptions

  • Device registration

  • License validation

  • Region checks

  • Feature add-ons

If those features aren’t working, here’s how to troubleshoot your network setup from the device side.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Ensure the device is connected to a network with internet access
The network must have full internet access (not just local LAN).

  2. Check your connection type
Use the method your product supports (WiFi, Ethernet, etc.). Refer to your product’s specific support page to confirm how it should connect.

  3. Try a different connection method
If you're using WiFi, try Ethernet (if supported) or vice versa to isolate the issue.

  4. Try a different network entirely
Connect the device at home, or use a mobile hotspot. This rules out issues in your local network.

  5. If all signs point to your local network being the culprit, verify these settings:

    • Disable Windows and network firewalls (temporarily).

    • If disabling isn’t possible, allow exceptions for these domains:

      • api.foresightsports.com

      • api2.foresightsports.com

    • Also open ports 80 and 443 (standard HTTP/HTTPS) on your network equipment.

FAQs

Q: My device shows connected but features like subscription or validation still fail. Why?
Even if the device is on WiFi or Ethernet, it still needs unrestricted access to Foresight’s servers. Local network filtering or firewall rules often block it.

Q: What if I can’t disable my firewall?
You must allow traffic for api.foresightsports.com, api2.foresightsports.com, and open ports 80 and 443 for the service to work properly.

Q: Will switching networks mess up my device settings?
No. Trying another network is only for testing. Your device settings remain intact.
