Clubhead Speed/Smash Factor in FR1 Software
In regards to the Clubhead Speed and Smash Factor, this is not measured by the GC2 device alone.
- Club Data is only measured by our GCQuad or with the HMT (Head Measurement Technology) attachment. Without that additional hardware the GC2 only measures Ball Speed, Launch Angle, Ball Path (Azimuth), and Spin Data.
What you see Clubhead Speed in the older FR1 software please know that this will give an estimated Clubhead Speed based on the type of club you select and the static smash factor associated with that club (see static smash factors below.) This is a completely calculated estimate, and is not measured.
- Ultimately this calculated estimate is found as follows: Ball Speed divided by Static Smash Factor (listed below) = Estimated Clubhead Speed
- Drivers- 1.45
- Fairway Wood/ Hybrid- 1.40
- Irons- 1.36
- Wedges- 1.22
In the Original FSX/FSX 2018 software the Clubhead speed estimation was removed. If you have a GCQuad or HMT you will receive this data as it is measured by those devices.
